Optical properties of scattering and absorbing materials used in the development of optical phantoms at 1064nm

Optical phantoms have been developed to simulate the distribution of visible light in tissue. These phantoms can then be used to evaluate the performance of optical fiber delivery and/or radiometric detecting systems. This paper describes the development of an optical phantom for the Nd:YAG laser wavelength of 1064nm and the absorption coefficient, scattering coefficient, and anisotropy of the media used in its development.
