Pulsed photothermal radiometry of buried light-absorbing layers

We evaluate a method of detecting buried light-absorbing layers using infrared measurement of surface temperature following pulsed laser irradiation. Temporal signals are converted to spatial signals by solving a Fredholm integral equation. Results from layered samples are compared with theory to assess the precision and sensitivity of the technique.
