Absorption
This is a graph of the molar extinction coefficient of
1,1'-diethyl-2,2'-cyanine iodide dissolved in ethanol.
It was measured by R. A. Fuh on summer, 97
[H. Du, R. A. Fuh, J. Li,
A. Corkan, J. S. Lindsey, "PhotochemCAD: A computer-aided design and
research tool in photochemistry," Photochemistry and
Photobiology, 68, 141-142, 1998]. 1,1'-diethyl-2,2'-cyanine iodide has a molar
extinction coefficient of 54,000 M-1cm-1
at 524.25 nm [C. J. Tredwell and C. M. Keary, "Picosecond time resolved fluorescence lifetimes of the polymethine and related dyes.," Chem. Phys., 43, 307-316, 1979].
Due to the expected low fluorescence yield, estimated to be 0.001 [C. J. Tredwell and C. M. Keary, "Picosecond time resolved fluorescence lifetimes of the polymethine and related dyes.," Chem. Phys., 43, 307-316, 1979], a fluorescence spectrum was not collected.
