Absorption
This is a graph of the molar extinction coefficient of
Malachite Green dissolved in water.
It was measured by R. A. Fuh on summer, 95
[H. Du, R. A. Fuh, J. Li,
A. Corkan, J. S. Lindsey, "PhotochemCAD: A computer-aided design and
research tool in photochemistry," Photochemistry and
Photobiology, 68, 141-142, 1998]. Malachite Green has a molar
extinction coefficient of 148,900 M-1cm-1
at 616.5 nm [F. J. Green, The Sigma-Aldrich Handbook of Stains, Dyes and Indicators, Aldrich Chem. Comp., 1990].
A fluorescence spectrum was not recorded since most arylmethine dyes have such low emission in fluid solvents.
